Alan is currently an Associate Investment Advisor at RBC Dominion Securities, previously a senior analyst at TD Asset Management. He obtained his MBA degree from Rotman School of Management at University of Toronto. Prior to that, he was a chemical engineer after obtaining his B.Eng. degree from Zhejiang University, China and master degree from École Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada.

Cathy  Li,  CFA, CMA, MBA

Cathy is an experienced investment advisor and associate portfolio manager at RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities.  With over 20 years of experience within the banking industry in both Canada and China, she has a deep understanding of retail banking, commercial banking and wealth management in various capacities such as risk management, product management and business development. In her current role as an associate portfolio manager, Cathy offers tax-efficient wealth management solutions to both high-net-worth individuals and business owners.

Additionally, Cathy has impressive community involvement and generously volunteers her time to help others. She currently sits on the board of New Horizons Career Club,Jiangsu International Business Association and Carefirst Foundation. She is also an active volunteer for the Schulich MBA mentorship program. In her spare time, she enjoys running with her two young boys.


Michael Wang, MBA, CFA

He and his team provide comprehensive financial solutions to serve High-net-worth individuals and their businesses. Prior to joining RBC private banking, Michael was Managing Director, Head of Corporate Banking at China Construction Bank (Canada). Michael immigrated to Canada in 2000 and began his career in the finance sector with RBC Capital Markets in 2006, and has held progressively senior positions in capital markets, commercial banking, venture capital, private equity firms and most recently, private banking.

Based in Toronto, Michael had worked in Europe and Asia. Through his professional practices, Michael is closely engaged into local business community and has great contribution to the Asian community in Toronto. As one of the few truly bi-cultural and bilingual bankers on Bay street, Michael is well-connected in Corporate Canada and Corporate China at the same time. He is the go-to person for business and financial advises by many Chinese enterprises. In addition to the Canadian Club of Toronto, Michael sits on the board of New Horizon Career Club and Invest Canada Alliance.

Michael was born in Beijing, China; holds a bachelor degree of Electrical Engineering and gained his MBA from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. Michael is a CFA charter holder.


Echo Han, MBA

VP, BMO Capital Market Risk Control

Echo Han is a VP at BMO Capital Markets Risk Control. She was promoted to this role in Feb 2014 and is responsible for market risk, counter party credit risk, credit risk, liquidity risk and operational risk reporting for executive teams in BMO Capital Markets. Previously, Ms. Han was Manager of Portfolio Management and Data Analytics of the ERPM team at BMO, quantitative analysis at a local hedge fund as well as consultants for financial institutions and the government projects.

As one of the cofounders of NHC, Ms Han continue to oversees and manages NHC career training programs, such as career development series, distinguish speaker series, and industry salons like capital market salon and treasury salon. In 2018, Ms Han organized the first NHC Art Exhibition Mixer that attended by more than 200 participants from volunteer community and financial industry.

Ms. Han earned a Bachelor of Mathematics degree (with honors) in computer science from the University of Waterloo and a MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business.


Ava Huang

Ava holds a Master of International Business Degree from Queen’s University, and Bachelor of Environment and Business Degree from University of Waterloo.  With over 2 and half years’ experience in financial services and retail banking industry, Ava is also mastered in helping client to achieve their financial goals through investment planning, retirement planning, estate planning and credit planning.

Currently, Ava is a Financial Planner in TD Wealth, mainly responsible for helping high value clients with their day to day banking, investment and credit needs.Ava is an active adviser in NHC Retail Banking Workshops and provides lots of support to attendee.


Linna Li, MFin

Linna holds a B.Com in Finance & Economics from the University of Toronto and a Master of Finance degree from the Queen’s School of Business. With over 4 years’ experience in capital markets and a focus on fixed income trading products, funding and liquidity businesses. Currently, Linna works at RBC Local Market Risk team covering TMS and Central Funding businesses. Her responsibilities include but not limited to market risk limit monitoring, risk reporting and assessments, FRTB projects…etc.

Outside from work, Linna has been actively volunteering and taking leadership roles in the New Horizon Career Club. She oversees and manages NHC functional groups, such as interview support, job posting, non-for-profit partnerships, social media publications and data analysis. In her spare time, she enjoys movies, travels and muay thai kickboxing. She has been an active festival volunteer with Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) since 2013.


Lian Duan, MBA, ERP

Lian holds MBA degree from Schulich Business School with specialization in Finance and Financial Engineering. With over 10 years’ experience in financial services and trading market, she has a deep understanding across market risk management, equity & commodity derivatives, fixed income, commodity product control and etc. Lian is also mastered in data analysis, mathematical modeling and calculation, and practical application of financial engineering risk management models.

Lian was a product manager of RBC capital markets before joining China Merchants Securities, mainly responsible for risk and profit management of bulk commodity trading, which covers crude oil, natural gas, power, carbon and agricultural product.

As the president of New Horizon Club, Lian has been dedicated in various planning and management functions in the association. Under the leadership of Lian, NHC has grown into the most influential young professional career development club in GTA area.


Rose Jin, MBA

Ms. Rose Jin is currently CEO of Shanghai Palace Realty and Director of  SHMBA Finance Committee currently. Ms. Rose  has a wide range of business experience, at home and abroad, from 10 year Corporate Banking on Bay Street and 8 years real estate brokerage in North America to investment banking and asset management in China.

Rose is a founding Director of NHC, one of the first group of mentors who has contributed significantly on the direction of NHC and strategies building. In 2014, she became the Deputy Chief Economist at Huayi Group in Shanghai and then a General Manager at Capital Market Group of Central China Securities. Currently, Rose is a partner of Shanghai Voya Capital and CEO of Shanghai Palace Realty specialized in Dubai property investments.

Rose is a registered Fund Manager in China. She is a Director at SHMBA, comprised of top 100 business schools worldwide, sitting on the Finance Committee.

Rose received her MBA in 1995 from Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto. She has co-translated John Hull’s book “Risk Management and Financial Institutions.


Angela Wang, MBA

Angela Wang is currently a Vice President at Ping An Global Voyager Fund of Ping An Insurance Group. Her work focuses on early stage venture investments in fintech and digital health. Previously, Angela served as a Director of Institutional Sales at Born Asset Management, a Beijing-based hedge fund.

Prior to that she worked for financial institutions and corporations including Bank of Montreal and Hitachi in Beijing, Toronto, Kyoto and Hong Kong. In the summer of 2013, after graduating from MBA, Angela joined BMO as a Senior Analyst in market risk management department. Angela has work experience across different countries, and is very active in networking and social activities.
